Common questions
Do I keep my domain name?
Yes. Your domain stays in your name. We never take ownership of your domain. You can keep it with your current registrar or, if you prefer, we can manage DNS settings for you as an optional add-on.
Who owns the website?
While you're on a SteadySite plan, we own and maintain the site infrastructure. You own your content - the text, images, and branding. After 24 months, if you choose to leave, we'll provide your content so you can use it elsewhere.
Why is there a 24-month minimum term?
Building a quality website takes significant time and expertise. The 24-month term allows us to offer the service with no upfront cost - we recover the build investment through your monthly payments.
What if I want to leave before 24 months?
You can buy out the remaining months at any time. The buyout amount is simply the remaining months multiplied by your monthly fee. After 24 months, you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
What edits are included each month?
Small changes like updating text, swapping images, changing contact details, or adjusting prices. If you need larger changes - like adding new pages or a significant redesign - we'll quote that separately and get your approval first.
How long does it take to build my new site?
Most projects are completed within 2-4 weeks. The exact timeline depends on how quickly you can provide content (text, images, branding) and how many rounds of feedback we go through.
Will this improve my Google ranking?
We build every site with proper SEO foundations: clean code, fast loading, mobile-friendly design, correct page titles and descriptions. This gives you a solid starting point. For ongoing SEO work (content strategy, link building, local listings), we offer this as a separate add-on.
Is email included?
No. We focus purely on websites. Most businesses already have email through Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or their domain provider. We can recommend options if you need to set up business email.
What if I already have a website I like - can you just host it?
We don't offer hosting-only services. SteadySite is specifically for businesses that need a new or rebuilt website. If you're happy with your current design, a standard hosting provider would be a better fit.
What happens at the end of 24 months?
Nothing dramatic. You simply continue on a rolling monthly basis at the same rate. If you want to leave, give us 30 days' notice and we'll provide your content. If you're happy, just keep going - no new contract to sign.
