Key terms, plainly explained
No legal jargon. Here's how SteadySite works in simple terms.
The Service
- SteadySite is a subscription. You pay monthly for website design, build, hosting, and maintenance.
- You don't purchase the website outright. You get full use of a professional website without large upfront costs.
- We own the site infrastructure and code. You own your content (text, images, brand materials).
Minimum Commitment
- You commit to a minimum of 24 months.
- This minimum term allows us to offer £0 upfront pricing.
- After 24 months, you switch to rolling monthly billing.
Cancellation
- Before 24 months: You can exit by paying out the remaining months. Buyout = remaining months x monthly fee.
- After 24 months: Cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice.
- If you leave, we'll provide your content (text, images) in a standard format. Site design and code remain ours.
Your Domain
- Your domain name always belongs to you.
- We can manage DNS for you (optional add-on) or you can manage it yourself.
- If you manage your own domain, we'll give you the settings needed to point it to our servers.
- Business email is not included in SteadySite plans.
- You can use any email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.).
- We can recommend providers if you need guidance.
Monthly Edits
- Your plan includes small content updates each month.
- Larger changes (new pages, features, redesigns) are quoted separately.
- We'll always confirm before doing work that falls outside your allowance.
Payment
- Monthly payments are taken automatically.
- If payment fails, we'll contact you to resolve it.
- Sites may be suspended after 14 days of non-payment.
- Agreements may be terminated after 30 days of non-payment. Outstanding balance remains due.
